A mechanical needle-punched mat made from chopped E-glass fibres entangled with no chemical binder, at a density of 100–200 kg/m³ and available in thicknesses from 3 to 30 mm, with a standard width of 1.05 m and customization available. Heat resistant to about 700 °C, it also absorbs sound and filters, and is widely used for high-temperature equipment and HVAC duct insulation, fire and thermal barriers, acoustic and filtration insulation, motorcycle silencer cores and appliance insulation.
