A mat formed from continuous glass filaments (not chopped) bonded with a powder or emulsion binder, in which the filaments form continuous loop swirls — clearly different from the random short strands of a chopped strand mat. Common weights are 300/450/600 g/m², roll widths are 1050/1250 mm (1–2 m also available) and moisture content is about 0.2%. Because it wets out quickly and forms well, it is used mainly for RTM and vacuum moulding, automotive interior panels, transformer insulation and polyurethane foam reinforcement.
