A two-layer composite mat in which woven roving (600/800 g/m²) is stitched to a chopped strand layer (275/450 g/m²), combining the high strength of woven roving with the conformability and surface coverage of a chopped mat in one fabric. Typical combined weights are 875–1250 g/m², widths from 20–3300 mm and about 60 kg per roll. It is used mainly for boatbuilding, FRP pipes, flange panels, refrigeration equipment and profiles, using pultrusion, hand lay-up and RTM.
