Quartz Fiber Fabrics

A fabric woven from high-purity quartz glass fibre with high-temperature resistance, low dielectric constant, low thermal expansion and excellent electrical insulation, making it a common reinforcement for high-temperature radome and insulating composites. Common weights are 100–280 g/m², thickness about 0.10–0.28 mm (ultra-thin grades 0.03–0.06 mm), in plain, twill or satin weave, with warp/weft densities of about (12–20)±2 ends per cm and ultra-fine filament diameters down to 5 μm. It is used mainly for high-temperature and radar-transparent composites, insulating materials and ablative materials, and can replace high-silica, alumina and E-glass fabrics.
