A high-performance fabric woven in plain weave from para-aramid filament yarn such as DuPont™ Kevlar®, offering high strength and modulus together with excellent impact and cut resistance. Common weights are 160–400 g/m² (±5–10), thickness about 0.20–0.50 mm (±0.03), widths of 1000/1270 mm, warp/weft densities of 60–100 ends per 10 cm and tensile strength of 1600–4000 N/25 mm. Main uses are bulletproof vests, helmets, protective clothing, aerospace and sporting goods.
